Major Moscow's Attacks Cut Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital
During the night, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.
A number of civilians were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to water systems, according to municipal leaders.
Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.
Russian forces has escalated assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Russia.
"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the major economies - in providing air defence systems and implementing sanctions," mentioned in a online statement.
Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles attacked energy facilities, labeling such strikes as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.
Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.
A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.
Multiple people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from municipal representatives.
Local officials said the metropolitan region endured significant strikes throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.
The attacks come after periods of air raids in the territory, parts of which are occupied by invading troops.
The whole nation is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.
National leaders told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting fuel infrastructure.
Authorities confirmed technical personnel and officials were preparing for more assaults.
